The Part of You That’s Not Really You

Romans 7:17 says “Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.” This is Paul, an apostle of the church, born again, filled with the Spirit of God, teaching righteousness and he’s saying he’s got sin within.

Maybe you’ve been taught that when you become born again, your spirit man becomes totally pure from sin.  Paul didn’t teach that, nor does the rest of the bible.  It’s about time that we defuse one of the most insidious lies to hit Christianity in 2,000 years.

We must look at ourselves and others as God looks at us. Because of His love for us, God the Father provided us a way to be separated from sin and evil.  Our responsibility is to confess sin and have it removed.  We avoid true repentance when we claim sin as our own identity, when in fact, Jesus took it so we wouldn’t have to live with it.  We must separate ourselves from evil and have a perfect hatred for its nature.  The Bible says you are to hate the evil and love the person, which includes yourself.

The teaching called Separation will help you to separate yourself from sin and see that it does not have to have power over you anymore.  You can confess it and be on your way to freedom.  Our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with entities you cannot see from sin’s kingdom.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” –Ephesians 6:12

[tweet_dis]WE are not sin!  The original plan from God was that we be created in His perfect image.  Now get back to ‘plan A’![/tweet_dis]  The power that raised Jesus from the dead, which is the Holy Spirit, by the will of the Father, lives in us.  We are not defeated by sin.  That is a lie.  Instead let God be true, and every man a liar.

“God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” – Rom 3:4
