Who is affected by cancer?

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 1.9 million new cancer cases are diagnosed annually, and there are over 600,000 cancer deaths per year in the United States. Approximately 38% of people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. With these statistics, it is nearly impossible not to have been affected by cancer in yourself or someone you know. But we do not have to fear cancer.

What causes cancer?

We have found that there are often spiritual root causes for physical diseases for which the medical community does not understand the cause. Many of us may not realize that how we think about and process situations can actually affect our health. What we choose to think about can either become a blessing or a curse to us. When we don’t take our thoughts captive, casting down every imagination, bringing it into the obedience of Christ—then our bodies start responding to what we are going through spiritually.

What does the Bible say about cancer?

God intended from the foundation of the world that we love our God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and we should love our neighbor as ourselves. The basic foundation of the Gospel is relationship.

³⁷Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:37-39 KJV

When we hold onto thoughts such as unforgiveness toward others, it causes a breach in relationship and can have an effect on our body. In fact, we have seen many people completely healed of certain types of cancer just because they forgave someone that they had a breach in relationship with. This is just one example of how we can come overcome by lining up with God’s Word in our thinking, speaking, and acting. As we line up our hearts and minds with His will and His ways, we will be amazed to see the healing and blessings that come forth as a result.

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-26 KJV

Can cancer be cured?

As we take spiritual responsibility for our lives, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can prevent and find healing from cancer. God has made provision for mankind to deal with every spiritual component behind diseases because He said in His Word that He heals all diseases. Don’t give up; there is hope!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Psalm 103: 2-3 KJV
