You the Servant

I want to make sure that you have the tools to be awake spiritually. Many Christians are just walking through life blind. Oh, they are going to heaven alright. The Bible promises heaven, eternal life, foretells of the Lord’s millennium reign, and promises of the eternal new heavens and new earth, but 98% of this Bible has to do with this planet and the how the people who live in it should conduct themselves.

This is a very pragmatic book.  It helps individuals establish the kingdom of God in their hearts every day. It brings it right down to real life with nothing esoteric about it. It is basic, basic, basic stuff to help us love the LORD our God with all of our heart and all of our soul and all of our might.

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.Deuteronomy 6:5

[tweet_dis]The foundation of all health is relationship.[/tweet_dis] The foundation of all disease is a break-up in relationship either with God, or with yourself, or with someone else. The beginning of all healing involves reconciliation with God, and you initiate the peacemaking process with yourself and others. Whether they do it or not, does not make any difference. Someone has to get spiritual here, and who would you suggest be the first one to get spiritual?  Do you want to wait for your enemy to get spiritual first and repent?  Don’t hold your breath.

Maybe you are working in a job and you have a very lousy, demonized boss. You are not working for him anyway. The word says you are serving the LORD. It is easy to serve somebody that is nice to you, but the true test of your spirituality, according to scripture, is how you are going to work for somebody who is not nice to you.

If you are not under authority, you will never be in authority as far as God is concerned. I learned a long time ago to be under authority. That may be an oppressive word to some of you. You may have been under oppressive masters and under oppressive family members, fathers, mothers, pastors or teachers. The word of God covers that, too.

How will you serve Him in your lifetime?  Are you prepared to share in His sufferings as His servant?

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.1 Peter 4:13

Don’t avoid opportunities to serve those that oppress you.  He may use those times as preparing you to be more like Him.  Wouldn’t that be a blessing!
