- Does the FML Online course have the exact same content as the Thomaston course?
- What are the minimum hardware/software/connection requirements to participate in FML Online?
PC and Mac Operating Systems supported:
PC: Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
Mac: MacOS 10.4 ("Tiger") or laterSupported Browsers:
Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3, Safari 4, or Google Chrome.Connection requirements: speed of at least 512 Kbps.
You MUST have a broadband connection (such as ADSL or Cable). Use of dial-up or speeds lower than 512 Kbps is not supported.
There have been varying degrees of success with satellite connections. With almost any non-commercial Internet connection, you aren't always guaranteed the full speed because you're actually sharing limited bandwidth - but this is often even moreso the case in a satellite connection. You may want to contact your Internet Service Provider to let them know you will be streaming a class video session and ask if they can gurantee that your connection will constantly sustain a speed of at least 512 Kbps.Viewing of the For My Life™ Online program using mobile personal devices such as phones is unsupported. While it may work on some models or configurations, Be in Health™ makes no guarantee that the program will be viewable on any specific mobile device.
If problems are experienced, be sure to turn off all installed pop-up blockers as they sometimes interfere with proper operation of a multimedia-oriented website.
Be sure to have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed. Old versions of Flash may not work. You can download the latest version of flash at Adobe's website here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash
- What if, after the class begins, I realize that I don't meet these requirements or I have an issue with the player that can't be resolved?
If you experience a player problem, please make sure you use the Contact Us form AS SOON AS YOU REALIZE THE PROBLEM so that we are able to attempt to give you a possible solution and get you back to viewing the class.
Our technical staff will make a best effort to give instructions on resolving the issue; however, please bear in mind that modern computers are very complex, and are even more difficult to troubleshoot when the person is remote and not sitting in front of your machine. Because of this, in the event the solutions offered fail to get your machine to view the class properly, we will arrange to credit your account. However, a credit will result in termination of your access to the class content; therefore, if you wish to continue the course and are able to use a different machine, you may want to continue the class on an alternate machine.
- What username and password do I use here? If I have a username/password for the 7000 Project or Be in Health Connection, can I use those?
The login system now accepts usernames and passwords of 7000 Project and Be in Health Connection associates if either (1) they are currently subscribed, or (2) have been subscribed at any time within the last 9 months. If you have a 7000 or BH Connection username but it has been more than 9 months since you were actively subscribed, you may wish to try to see if it works, but it may not. You may want to consider resubscribing, as 7000 Project or Be in Health Connection associates sometimes receive pricing offers related to online programs when they are actively subscribed.
Usernames and passwords of actively subscribed 7000 members or BH Connection members are usable here - but a username created here does not necessarily transfer back to the 7000 or Connection membership area.
For My Life™ Online is a condensed version of the complete For My Life™ class offered at the Thomaston campus. It is the same content that will be offered by the For My Life™ Near You classes, which will be 3-day sessions held at various locations away from Thomaston that will contain a total of 32 hours of teaching.
While the online course is designed to give the same general insights as the class offered at the Thomaston campus, some topics have been edited to fit within the 32-hour time allotment, and a few of the minor topics have been omitted.
