When you anoint with oil, you are "doing" the Word. But even in those churches that believe God heals today, healing doesn't happen because those who are applying this as a spiritual application don't quote the rest of that verse. "And if they have committed any sins, they shall be forgiven."

When someone comes to me with one of the hundreds of incurable diseases that we know about (over 80% of incurable diseases are spiritually rooted) and ask me to pray the prayer of faith so that God will heal them, I already know why they have a disease. I know what's behind that disease. What the church is doing is praying for them and not discipling them first. This is a key issue. Many don't know how to disciple them. If there is a spiritual root to their disease, they should be discipled in that area.

I told God in my prayer time, "If the devil is sending people to me and I think you, God, have told me that, I will not doubt it. But show it to me in the Bible."

The Bible says to try the spirits.

This time I was asking God to prove it to me, to show it to me in the Word. In my Bible study time, the Holy Spirit took me to 2 Timothy 2:24-26.

The devil can hold Christians captive at his will. The church doesn't want to teach that. We want to act like we are free birds,
but if we are sick, we are not free birds. We've become almost like Christian scientists. We have a disease, but we say it doesn't really
exist. We act like we don't have it. Either we have a disease or we don't. It's not a figment of our imagination.

In 2 Timothy 2:24 it says, ...able to teach... Why would we teach people? We teach because they need to know something. You
don't teach someone something they already know. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves... So we are going to give
instruction to people who are in opposition to themselves. That God peradventure ... Peradventure in the KJV means it will be a
miracle if it ever happens. Will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. So there's an element of truth they
don't have, but they need it in order to repent. This is written to believers... that they may recover themselves from the snare of the
devil (my parenthesis, having been taken captive at the devil's will). The NIV says, "to do the devil's will."

Paul is saying that Satan and his kingdom can bind a believer at the devil's will - because of ignorance.
