Sometimes when we get around people who are serving sin as believers, I say to them, "You can change." They look at me and in a huff say, "Henry, that's just the way I am. My Daddy was that way; my Granddaddy was that way. You have to accept me just the way I am."
I look at them and say, "Well, I accept you, but I don't accept the things that are destroying you and putting you in bondage.
A great promise to believers in the Bible is - From glory to glory we are being changed into His image.
When you are bound with fear, anxiety and stress while taking thought for tomorrow, that is not His image. That is not the mind of Christ.
When I remember learning the devil was sending people to me for prayer, I wondered how many of these people are in our Sunday morning services asking the elders to anoint them with oil, expecting God to heal them. Yet, less than five percent are being healed of incurable diseases. This has to be a discouraging thing for elders in churches and pastors - and the people receiving ministry. This does not have to be happening.
