Many people believe that when they are born again, they are fully converted. Being born again does not mean we have been sanctified. Being born again gives us the power to BECOME the Sons of God, by faith. Once born again, I now have the power to overcome evil, whereas before, I didn't even qualify. I had no tools; I had no power. Once we are born again, the Holy Spirit begins to sanctify us as He renews our minds and transforms our character into His image.

We misunderstand what happened at the cross; the work of the cross was finished by Jesus through His obedience. The work of the cross in our life must be finished by our obedience as well.

Some people just don't want to obey Christ; others want to, but just don't know how. They've never had a point of reference on how to do it. Their families have all "done religion" a certain way which is very intense programming. Sometimes the programming of our long-term memory is generational.
