Beginning in the spring of 2007, I was affected by MCS/EI- Multiple Chemical Sensitivity/ Environmental Illness. Specifically, it was EMF-Electromagnetic Fields Sensitivity, an allergy to electricity. The problem began with mold in a bathroom due to a water leak. Chemicals, used to remove the mold and to waterproof the wall, caused a chemical odor, which greatly bothered me. I used an ozone machine to help with the odor.

Another way that the problem manifested was when I used the computer, telephone, or television, I would get itching on my face and left shoulder. If I used any of those items for more than a few minutes, a pain would develop down the middle of my chest.

Because of the odor, I moved out of my home for several months. On returning home, I was able to tolerate being in the kitchen, my bedroom and bath, the rooms furthest from the bathroom which had had the leak. I discovered I could turn on the television in the living room and sit in my bedroom to listen to it.

I did not use the microwave or range and I cooked my food in a Crockpot. When I went into the kitchen I would turn the refrigerator off. The range and microwave were turned off at the breaker box. When running the washer, dryer, or dishwasher, I stayed in my bedroom with the door closed.

In warm weather months, I spent a lot of time on the patio where I was more comfortable than anywhere else.

In the early fall of 2009, lights started bothering me more. I couldn’t turn on the kitchen ceiling lights, but used one light bulb over my dining table which gave me some light in the kitchen. I used night lights and hallway lights for light in the bedroom. I could only read in the daylight hours.

The overhead vents for my furnace and air conditioner cause a numb, tingling feeling on my head. I quit going out to eat or shopping because of the lights in the stores. I made short trips to the grocery store and avoided the aisle with chemicals and cleaners.

In November of 2009 I was loaned the book, “A More Excellent Way” written by Henry W. Wright. There were testimonies by people who had been healed of MCS/EI.

I immediately contacted them and elected to take advantage of their phone ministry. All of their teachers had been healed of something through this ministry. My very able teacher had had MCS/EI for many years and was completely healed of it and several other diseases. I was taught that the main roots of my disease had the spiritual roots of fear and occult. After a few weeks of ministry, I began to notice a gradual improvement. I am now able to do everything I did before becoming ill. I am in Walk Out, which is a process of continuing to establish new habits.

During this time my general physical health was good other than the electrical problems.

I am so thankful for the healing that God has given me. He is no respecter of persons, for what He has done for one He will do for others.
