Home again! After a month in Dothan, AL where I renewed the fellowship with my precious older daughter and spent a delightful time playing my role as Great Grandmother, I am back home much better for the time.

I called for messages only once, answered only urgent emails, etc., baked Jesus bread and cooked for the family, caught up on ironing, taught them how to iron and just rested. I am finally learning in my “old age.” Caught up on reading, studying the book for the seminar this month in Georgia – a phenomenal experience and one that will have very long-range effects on my health.

The church has seen tremendous miracles in the health of members who have attended this 2-week experience. Henry Wright has established a ministry teaching what the King James Bible (he only uses it and has convinced me finally that the NIV has significantly changed much in the original Bible and thus must be suspect) says about God and diseases. Basically, about 80 percent of our illnesses have deep and sometimes unrealized spiritual roots which, when dealt with, brings health and healing.

They have been 100 percent successful in seeing healing in an amazing and growing group of people suffering from MCS/EI, which is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity/Environmental Illness. I had spoken with a lady at the church who had first heard of this ministry. She began being healed when she attended but then “walked out” the rest of it over the next months. She said after a year of applying the principles, she was normal.

I was amazed how many of the approximately 100 people there in January who were suffering from this. Their theory: it is an anxiety disorder stemming from broken human relationship(s) and resting almost completely in fears. Allergies, simple and complex, are also, for the most part rooted in this. The immune system is compromised and the symptoms evolve.

They give us the Scriptures to study and work through, allowing the person to reach the realization of where their particular root cause could be lurking, then leading the person through recognizing, repenting, releasing the person from these through building their relationship with God the Father and allowing the Holy Spirit to bring the healing. I was really suffering from the allergies that are always particularly bad supposedly due to the farms surrounding. I literally kept myself awake a lot coughing and suffering from scratchy, tickling throat, couldn’t even sing at church from the congestion.

After a couple of days in Georgia, as I began seeing the wisdom and Scriptures, I found that I was perhaps coughing once or twice during the night. I was able to sing in worship like days of old. I still feel some problems, but nothing like all the time so I am “walking out the problem” and praising the Lord.

Osteoarthritis, that has stolen 3 inches from my height, was destined for death for one lady who was Jewish and 60 came almost bent over. She made sure she didn’t have to accept our Jesus in the beginning and Henry Wright used her own “Bible.” When she returned home her physician did a bone density test and told her she had the skeleton of a 30-year-old woman. By the way, she had changed her mind about Jesus.

More than one came who were not born again and some were healed as they said that God can work when He decides to on whomever and whyever He wants. Of course it would be hard to leave without Jesus and they said it rarely happens.

A number of people were there who had been before and some had come several times. The worship is fantastic. Our day started with the most anointed praise and worship. The Holy Spirit was so strong and the peace and joy was wonderful.

Doctors are sending their patients from all over the country, even doctors who do not believe. One lady had been there who had a horrible cancer over a lot of her face and had been told there was nothing that could be done medically. She looked like those people who have hideous birthmarks. There were people there who had witnessed it. (By the way, they do not lay hands like you see so much and people are healed on the spot. They believe that if the reason has spiritual roots, the real disease is the root and must be dealt with.) On the last Friday the whole cancer literally fell off, leaving her face needing to restore itself much like a burn healing. After a period of time her skin was healed and she was renewed. Her doctor could not believe it but had to. I saw a video with her cancer and without.

One dear lady came with a face that made her look years older. During a service dealing with the fact that fathers had not shown love and nurtured their children, and thus gave them the root problem many had not understood, thus hampering their relationship with God the Father. The men who ministered simply hugged them and held them while they worked through the realization of the depth of damage done to their personality. God had one of the sweetest husbands of a dear lady be her substitute for her father. They just let the lady decide how long to hold onto this caring friend. She cried as though her heart was split in two for 45 minutes and when she was finally through she turned around and I tell you she had dropped 10 years off her face. The rest of the week she glowed and had solved much of her base problem. Then she started growing in her love and trust of God the Father. It was awesome! Interestingly the man told me he was blessed as much as she. He had intended to go when the men went up for the same purpose.

The week was very intense and frankly I was exhausted, which helped sleep when it came. We were like teenagers developing friendships, which should be very delightful among our dorm mates. The food was excellent and inexpensive. It was a lot less expensive than one month’s medicine bill.

Everyone wants to return because it was such a pleasant time and very spiritually refreshing. The Friday night church service was wonderful. Then Saturday we were separated into very small groups and were ministering one to another. We have long prayer lists. I cancelled my flight and drove home with a lady from Temple and one from Austin. The one from Temple had been in my dorm. Her husband is a pastor and she was lovely. We had the neatest trip, leisurely and enriching personally and spiritually.

The 2nd week they always have is actually teaching us how to teach this when God presents an opportunity. I didn’t have that opportunity and hopefully will be able to go back after the next semester, but I understand there is a ministry which has started here. I plan to volunteer and take part in it since they use the principles and research that is ongoing. These people emphasize that God promises health and not just management of illness that the pills we take generally do. They do urge you to work with your doctor, however, and not go off half cocked, throwing away your medication. However, a number told me that as they were healed, the medication was eliminated one by one and that is what I am praying for. I told my doctor that I could not believe that some were working against others, there are so many. When I take the morning bunch I haven’t room left for breakfast that they tell me is so important.

They have a telephone ministry and they tell us that people are healed without ever having attended the seminars. A few are healed once they read the book and grasp hold of the concepts, allowing the Lord to heal them without it. Tapes are available too for those who cannot come for whatever reason. They aren’t trying to build a closely held secret group. While it is copyrighted, they urge us to share with others the principles and that is why the training.

When I think of the people spending months and years going to counselors and huge amounts of money doing it, I felt as though I had been turned inside out and during some of the sessions I would think, “oh, this one will be a breeze as it won’t reveal much about me.” Then all of a sudden I would see and understand areas that needed work. I was only on page 60 (I am a fast reader) and said, “well, I found myself there.” By the time I finished the book I saw myself in a number of places.

I’ll tell you when I asked the Lord to reveal to me those I might have at least a root of unforgiveness and bitterness (not me) toward, the list was long and some of them I couldn’t even remember their names. The Lord just had me write down their location when it happened. Do not try this unless you want to be stripped naked! And fear? They said that it was the root of most problems and there are 4000 plus different kinds of it. Wow!

They have only seen one person with epilepsy not healed. I thought it wouldn’t be healed, but they assured me it is. Chronic fatigue syndrome is also 100 percent on their healed list. People have been healed of a lot of different types of cancer, etc. etc. etc.

They attribute this to their belief that most Christians do not take sanctification as seriously as they should and want to live under a cheap grace. They say a lot of healing is conditional on obedience and freedom comes from a degree of responsibility. True repentance brings about sanctification. Basically it boils down to their teaching that in salvation our spirit is saved, our soul is being saved and our body will be saved as we progress through sanctification. It makes sense. As they said, over and over, we do not heal. They urge us to develop a deep and close relationship with God the Father through the stripes of Jesus on the cross that were to heal our diseases and allow Him to heal us with knowledge followed by obedience.

I’ll tell you this – I feel better than I have for a very long time and know that I have more work to do and God intends for me to be able to do it. He just had to straighten out some things. No more short prayers. I am getting serious about things.
